I've had the Deluxe Home for years, and use it for yardwork. Need another, and this said outdoor and strong, so I figured it would be better. Have had 2 months now... lock broke when I dropped from mower on to concrete (maybe 2 ft) and I used for a while without lock after taping with duct tape. Finally, one day, I was grabbing small stick, and pulling the trigger, it snapped and disconnected somewhere inside. I took apart, but couldn't get it to work - lots of broken plastic inside- not very sturdy.

Bought this with the 40 inch reach, allows me to clean trash out of storm drains, curbs, and avoids having to bend over for hard to reach trash. It has stood up to the abuse I put it through of picking up litter for 3 hours a day in my neighborhood. It’s lightweight enough for long use, but sturdy enough to pick up bricks and other heavy debris. I also have the ArcMate pro plus, but got this model because it has more room for my gloves on the handle.

I've bought two other brands, both use a cable to work the tongs, both were more expensive, one has failed and the other isn’t comfortable to operate. I bought two of these and they have been in service for almost five years, the quality and durability is far superior to anything else I've seen. These get banged around on the mowers, on the trailer and in the truck. They’re used to pick up everything, small candy wrappers, big beer bottles and rocks (big rocks) but take the abuse and still perform flawlessly. I accidentally bent the tongs on one pair yesterday and feared they were ruined but with some light, hand tweaking were back in service immediately, the only damage was a torn cup so I’ve ordered replacements. One torn cup in five years sounds like an excellent investment to me!
